Roy Lake Resort & Lodge is proud to present you with the NEW OpenWater Fishing page! This page contains ALL openwater fishing pictures and any basic information on the sport. **Any up-to-date reports can be found under Fishing Reports!!**
Roy Lake is known for it's ability to be a beautiful and natural nursery for many freshwater species of fish including Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike,Yellow Perch, Bluegill, Black Crappie and Yellow Bullheads.
Roy Lake is also The Premiere Smallmouth Bass Lake in the State of South Dakota, and probably the best Hot Spot in the Tri-State area, as told by Field and Stream Magazine®.
Record numbers of Smallmouth Bass have been caught out of this lake while hosting probably the largest sized Smallmouths that you may come across. They are an excellent game fish with an excellent fight, the perfect adversary for Catch & Release!
The walleye and pike in this lake are also incredible creatures. Their sizes may vary more than the Smallmouths but they are out there and are clearly catchable as long as you know what you are doing and/or partake in our exclusive Guide Service that is almost gauranteed to succeed!
