Please note that the report pictures are from a previous report. I will have the new report pictures up soon.
Fishing has been a little up and down. On one hand you can say it is slow, but then somebody does something a little different, fishes a different lake with different qualities and has a great catch. This is the time of year to be creative. I hope you enjoy the pictures of catches for the last couple of weeks. Joe and friends had some great fishing. Others that were here went to fish lakes that aren’t fished very often and had fun catching fish, although some were small.
Many of you have heard of Pius Lake by South Buffalo. The access has been closed off. Some have been getting on with permission from private landowners. Limits of 14” walleye were quite common.
Tony Dean and a couple of the Power Sticks for Ice Team were here and caught a 27” walleye on Waubay. The other big catches of different species of fish were caught on several area lakes. They said that they had trouble finding them, but just kept looking until it happened. Tony Dean, Paul Liposto, Carl Madsen and Mike Rogers all limited out on walleyes during their stay.
I am also sending a picture from Ladredge Outdoors ice fishing team. They have crated a structure product that has worked very successfully in catching fish. You can contact them at www.ladredge.com for more information.
If you are a bass fisherman, try Roy and nearby lakes in August. Usually have a good bite all summer including August. Watch Tony Dean Outdoors on FoxsportsN on Sunday mornings at 9:00 A.M. and Al Lindner’s Angling Edge on FoxsportsN at 11:30 A.M. Also, North American Fishing Club is on the same channel at 8:30 A.M. and In-Fisherman is on at 11:00 A.M. on the same channel. That should provide some fun armchair fishing for you if you are at home these mornings.
Fox is on DirectTV is 641.
I am going to try to scan and send later this week a great story written by Tony Dean and published in Dakota Country Magazine. It is called “Creative thinking”. Also, another great article I just finished reading by Tony Dean on Turkey hunting published in the same magazine is also great. So, maybe I will scan both.
Also, don’t forget that the resort is a great place to bring groups for camadrie building, business meetings, etc. We have a great guide service and we also have some good golfing in the area. If you want to pair fishing with pheasant hunting in the Fall we can do that too, or do all 3.
The Condo cabins are great for groups and our lakefront restaurant is wonderful for getting together as well as home made meals.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
